A registered trademark is valid for a period of 10 years from the date of filing. To maintain legal ownership, the renewal application (Form TM-R) must be filed before the expiry date.

Important: You can file the renewal application as early as 6 months before the expiry date to ensure timely processing.

Late Filing Penalty

If the renewal is missed, the Registrar removes the trademark. You have a chance to restore it within 1 year by paying heavy late fees.


Removal: After 1 year of expiry, the mark is permanently removed.
